Revolutionizing Parametric CAD Performance
Cheetah Solver is a next-generation parametric solver designed to revolutionize the way CAD systems handle complex models. Traditional CAD systems often struggle with parametric models of significant size and complexity, relying on outdated mathematical algorithms that can’t fully leverage the power of modern multi-core processors. Cheetah Solver addresses these limitations by introducing a highly efficient algorithm optimized for parallel processing, enabling much faster and more reliable performance on even the most demanding models.
The startup was a finalist in Israel’s MassChallenge and was one of the few startups selected to represent Israel at the 2015 World Expo in Milan.
The Parametric CAD Challenge
Modern parametric CAD systems allow engineers to define geometric objects using parameters and constraints, such as distances, angles, and relationships between shapes. However, when these models grow in complexity, containing thousands of constraints and variables, traditional solvers can become slow, unstable, or fail to provide correct solutions. This is especially true for models with nonlinear equations or involving a large number of geometric primitives, such as architectural or mechanical drawings.
Cheetah Solver’s Innovation
Cheetah Solver was built to solve these challenges by providing an advanced algorithm that is optimized for multi-core processors and can scale across different hardware platforms. Unlike existing solvers, which typically use only a fraction of the available processing power, Cheetah Solver utilizes all cores to achieve massive performance improvements. Whether running on standard multi-core CPUs, NVIDIA GPUs with CUDA, or Intel’s Xeon Phi with many cores, Cheetah Solver delivers orders of magnitude better performance than conventional solvers.
